Four ski resorts you must visit in Slovakia

Slovakia offers a unique blend of natural beauty, world-class resorts and affordable prices, making it a hidden gem for skiers and snowboarders.

Nestled in the heart of Central Europe, Slovakia boasts the majestic Tatra Mountains, where skiers of all levels can enjoy a range of slopes, from gentle beginner runs to challenging alpine descents.

Resorts like Jasná, Tatranska Lomnica and Štrbské Pleso provide modern facilities, scenic views and plenty of off-snow activities, too.

Here are our four favourite ski resorts in Slovakia, ready for your ski trip next winter.

Why should you go skiing and snowboarding in Slovakia?

  • World-class facilities

  • Excellent value-for-money lift passes and accommodation

  • Beginner and family-friendly slopes

  • Fantastic freeride terrain and World Cup-level pistes for advanced skiers

  • Great off-snow activities

  • Regular flights from UK with Ryanair and Wizz Air

Jasna

Jasna is Slovakia’s largest ski resort, boasting over 51km of pistes, ranging from beginner-friendly runs to World Cup-level slopes. You’ll also find Central Europe’s longest illuminated night-skiing piste at 4.3km long. Powder hunters won’t be disappointed either – there’s an expansive freeride area to explore as well.

Beyond the pistes, you can visit Vlkolínec, a 600-year-oldfolk village, or unwind at Tatralandia, Slovakia’s largest thermal spa.
