Park & Pipe update June 2024

Snowsport Scotland are pleased to announce the formation of the Scottish Park & Pipe Team and the Scottish Park & Pipe Development Team replacing the former Performance Squad and Pro-Camps.   Murray Buchan our Freeski Performance Coach has departed Snowsport Scotland for a new job with the New Zealand Freeski Team, a very exciting opportunity for Murray and we wish him all the best.  Euan Baxter our pathway coach will be taking over duties and leading on the new Scottish Park & Pipe Team and Scottish Park & Pipe Development Team. 

Selection to the teams offer Scottish Park & Pipe athletes, both Freeski and Snowboard, a training program to pursue competitive Park & Pipe toward world class performance.  Scottish Park & Pipe Team athletes are defined as having performance close to, or on-track toward, GBSnowsport squad selection. Scottish Park & Pipe Development Team being defined as trainees identified as having potential to transition into the Scottish Park & Pipe Team. 

Led by Euan with support of contracted coaches the programs will offer the athletes competitive Park & Pipe training to realise their ambitions with learning being a key focus in the pursuit of performance.  Training for the Scottish Park & Pipe Development Team will be primarily domestic focusing on BASE Skiing & Snowboarding, Park & Pipe Technical tricks, Off-snow Movement, Fitness, Healthy Lifestyle, Culture & Behaviour, and Learning. The Scottish Park & Pipe Team, formerly the Performance squad trainees, in addition to the above will have abroad training opportunities focused on skill acquisition in large european level parks.

Selection is now open for trainees to apply with the application window closing midnight on the 7th of July and announcement of the teams on the 17th of July.
