NEW CHAIR - Gavin Thomson commences

After a handover with outgoing Chair Robbie Clyde, Gavin takes over, bringing with him a wealth of experience from the commercial sector where he previously held several Senior Vice President roles on the UK and Northern European executive boards of a major global technology company.

Gavin currently works for Motability Operations, the commercial company that delivers the Motability Scheme to over 700,000 disabled people and their families, where he is Managing Director for their business in Scotland and the UK Business Development Director.

He has been a passionate skier for >40years, having started at a young age at Bearsden Ski Club, where his two sons are keen skiers. Gavin’s elder son, Jamie Thomson, is currently training with the Snowsport Scotland / GB Para Alpine Development Squad.

Gavin said “ I am delighted to be joining the board of Snowsport Scotland as Chair, to support the organisation through this next period of development. Inspired by the professionalism and enthusiasm I have encountered working with the Para Alpine Pathway Programme (led by Blake Williams), I am now excited to lead the Snowsport Scotland Board and meet the wider team”.
