Zell Am See/Kaprun Para Alpine Camp

GB Snowsport/Snowsport Scotland Para Alpine Pathway Programme (PAPP) held a successful training camp in Zell am See/Kaprun from January 20th to 27th, 2024. Led by head Coach Blake Williams, the camp focused on introducing the fundamentals of GS and progressing in Slalom. The group included six athletes, three visually impaired (VI) guides, two support coaches, parents, and most importantly, Pickle the guide dog.

Training comprised slalom and GS courses, technical drills, recovery sessions, and theory lessons. Athletes also engaged in daily life activities promoting discipline and healthy habits. VI skiers worked on communication and technique, while standing athletes focused on specific aspects of their turns. The camp prepared athletes for upcoming competitions and was made possible by support from Get Kids Going charity.
