UKAD - Snowsport Scotland Pledge

Snowsport Scotland (SSS) are committed to promoting and supporting clean sport within Scotland and the UK. All athletes have the right to compete in sport knowing that they and their competitors are clean

SSS work in partnership with UKAD, the Home Nation Governing Bodies for Snowsports, GB Snowsport (GBS) and FIS (International Ski and Snowboard Federation) to ensure the integrity of the sport is protected. SSS support and provide anti-doping education to its athletes and support personnel, to enable them to make informed choices.   

Here’s a list of some of the steps we’ve been taking so far:

Anti-Doping Activities 2023/2024

• 40 athletes completed annual education training

• All coaches involved with the pathway hold current Coach Clean certificate

• Maggie Lawrie has taken on the role of Board Anti-Doping lead and completed relevant training

• Anti-doping is a standing item on the agenda at every board meeting

• Anti-doping lead in the office changed from Scott Simon to Alex Standen

• Alex Standen now a Clean Sport Educator

• Social Media – big push for Clean Sport Week 2023 plus posts throughout the winter promoting clean sport

• Planning for an education strategy for the 24/25 season is underway.
