Collaboration with BBU for Roller Ski Series
In an exciting development for the roller skiing community, Snowsport Scotland has announced a collaboration of a biathlon event in its popular Roller Ski Series. The Biathlon races are being held alongside the SSS Rollerski Series races in Fife, in collaboration with the Fife Nordic Ski Club and the British Biathlon Union.
Biathlon, which combines roller skiing with target shooting, has grown in popularity across the UK in recent years. Traditionally seen as a winter sport, the summer version played on roller skis provides athletes with year-round training and competition opportunities.
Only the cross country races are counting towards the Scottish (and GB) Rollerski Series. The biathlon races won't count towards the series this season.
Dates
Saturday July 26 - Cross Country Mass Start Skate followed by Running Laser Biathlon
Sunday July 27 - Cross Country Sprint followed by Skate Rollerski Laser Biathlon
