Project Lillehammer is a home nations performance programme available to our Performance Squad and their counterparts in the rest of Great Britain. The project is run by our Performance Coach for Cross-country Skiing, Alex Standen. Starting in 2019, the project aims to provide an alternative route for athletes looking to transition from youth through to senior cross-country ski racing. The project provides a winter base in Lillehammer, Norway to extend and optimise time on snow and to provide access to high quality, frequent, local racing in preparation for major events.
Our Selection Criteria is updated annually for our Performance Team and Development programme. The full 22/23 policy is available here: Snowsport Scotland Nordic Selection Policy 2022/23 .
Selection is carried out each October with athletes being selected for a full calendar year to the Performance Squad.
The 21/22 Selection is available here: Cross-country Skiing Squads 2021/22.
The GB Snowsports selection committee select athletes and teams for training squads and major championships. Please see their selection policy for more details – Selection Policy.
