Our Journey Begins
Our journey began in March 2020. We carried out an Equality review which included an equality survey of our sport.
The findings were presented to the board and became the foundations for our Equality Action Plan.
Equality Action Plan Created
The research we compiled enabled us to draft our Equality Action Plan. We encouraged people from across our sport, including our staff, clubs, and individual members, to get involved and feed into our plan.
It outlines a range of steps we will take over the next four years to address the challenges facing our sport and ensure we have a more diverse community enjoying our sport.
Active Scotland Women and Girls in Sport Week
October 2020 was an exciting month as we launched our Female Faces campaign.
We talked to passionate and inspiring women and girls from across our sport, who told their story of what snowsport means to them.
We also launched our Youth and Junior Girls in Snowsport Sessions in October.
Olympic medallist and World Champion Astrid Jacobsen gave advice on how to manage sport and school, cope with body image worries, keeping the passion for your sport alive through the teenage years and much more,
Second Youth and Junior Girls in Snowsports Session
In December, we tackled the very challenging subject of balancing a passion for snowsports and the demands of full-time schooling.
This is a tricky juggling act for many, but we got some great hints and tips from our expert.
Third Youth and Junior Girls in Snowsports Session
We kicked off 2021 with a brilliant session with guest speaker Cara Brown, ex-GB and Scottish Snowsports athlete who gave some fascinating insight into dealing with setbacks.
Fourth Youth and Junior Girls in Snowsports Session
February continued our Women in Snowsports series with a focus on Nutrition. We welcomed guest speaker Ailis Robertson, who is a Performance Nutritionist at the Scottish Institute of Sport!
She kept us all engrossed with a session that explored an athletes diet and found ways to incorporate them into our everyday routines.
