Tiffindell, South Africa : FIS Races by Mark Vinter

What a strong start to the season for the Scottish Team, with a great build up in Landgraff we headed to South Africa for the first time.
Heading into FIS can be a huge jump for children, nerves are capable of taking over your performances. The boys on the camp gave it their all and learned much from their peers. Congratulations to Jonny Marshall, 2nd year FIS who had 2 podium finishes and scored 2 PB FIS point results. Ali Hall, Sam Clyde and Fraser Hunter all first year FIS athletes scored some great points enabling them to start the season running.
Not only did this camp deliver some great skiing but a great life experience for the team. As you can see from the photo’s we managed to squeeze in a small safari and a sightseeing tour of Dubai on the way home. The high’s of being a ski racer….
We would like to thank Tiffindell and Alex Heath for delivering 10 efficiently run FIS races out in one of the most remote ski resorts we’ve ever been to. A big thanks to Natalia and Alain from BSA for allowing the Scottish Team to team up with them, making the trip possible.
Next stop Manchester for the British Indoor Championships.
