British (and Scottish) ski team athlete, Level 2 Coach and fully qualified teacher, Christy MacKinnon will be joining Snowsport Scotland as the Alpine and Ski Cross Pathway Coach in May 2020.

 

This season, Christy has been working as the Education Lead and Children’s Coach at the Excel Racing Academy and has been a member of the British Children’s Racing Team since 2016. In other coaching roles Christy has worked at Glasgow Ski Racing for 4 years, and has also been involved in coaching University and school level hockey teams.

 

As an athlete, Christy competed in the European Youth Olympics in 2009, was the Scottish overall Ladies Alpine Ski Champion in 2010 and the British Ladies Alpine Slalom Champion for three consecutive years.

 

Christy holds a First Class Bachelor of Physical Education and has held teaching positions within secondary schools in both Glasgow and North Yorkshire.

Christy’s will commence her employment at Snowsport Scotland on the 18th of May 2020.
