Snowsport Scotland Training Centres deliver in a challenging first year.
During 2019/20 Snowsport Scotland started building a new devolved framework of training centres, appointed and equipped to organise and deliver instructor, leader and coach training on behalf of the governing body.
The first year of operation has had its challenges, firstly equipping the centres and training and appointing tutors, but then having a January with no snow, a February largely stormed-off and a March literally plagued with COVID-19 lockdown, but the good news we can report is…
The network of training centres have successfully delivered training to over 325 candidates in this first year.
Our thanks go out to our existing centres:-
- Glasgow Ski Centre
- Glencoe Mountain
- The Nevis Range
- Parallel Lines
- Glenmore Lodge
- Aberdeen Snowsports
- Lothian Ski Racing
Looking ahead at 20/21, we very much look forward to working with them to build this training delivery channel and also bringing on the following new training centres, which are going through the process of becoming setup to be operational once the COVID-19 restrictions start to lift:-
- The Lecht Ski School
- Glenshee Ski School
- The Gordon Skiers
