Discipline Committee Member – Park & Pipe
Role Description
Snowsport Scotland (SSS):
To be the Scottish Governing Body for Snowsports and the representative for Snowsports in Scotland.
Role/Person Specification:
We are looking for an active member of the Park & Pipe, (Freeski or Snowboard) community to join the Snowsport Scotland (SSS) Park & Pipe Committee. Applicants should be excited about the future of park & pipe skiing and snowboarding in Scotland and willing to get stuck into committee responsibilities and projects. Applications should demonstrate a passion and interest for park & pipe and highlight relevant skills you would bring to the committee.
The Opportunity:
The successful candidate would be getting involved with leading and developing Park & Pipe Freeski & Snowboard in Scotland. Scotland has a highly passionate Freeski and Snowboard community with active clubs and facilities running great programs for their members, with skiers & riders from entry level to elite. We are pursuing an ambitious strategy, supported by sportscotland and GB Snowsport: growing participation throughout Scotland, supporting the performance pathway by providing more focused coaching and support to promising individuals and the creation and delivery of events.
Time Commitment:
Committee meetings are currently quarterly and last about 2 hours on a weekday evening. There is pre-reading for meetings and committee members are also asked to complete tasks between meetings.
Expenses/Remuneration:
Meetings are conducted online via Teams or Zoom so expenses are not currently provided.
Accountability:
SSS Committees were established to provide engagement between the SSS Board
and the various discipline communities.
Main Duties:
As a member of the Park & Pipe Committee, you will be considering and making recommendations to the Board on:
• Squad selection, preparation and management;
• Facilities and Terrain parks;
• Performance development programmes;
• Coaching requirements;
• Events & Competition; and
• Communication.
The Park & Pipe Committee is chaired by the SSS Park & Pipe Director, includes SSS pathway and performance coaches, along with representatives from the Park & Pipe community. There are now vacancies as some members have completed their terms of office.

Terms and Conditions:
Successful candidates will be appointed to this voluntary position initially for a three-year term.
