ParaSki4Europe’ – European Winter Para Sports Event, Poland 2020

A team of 10 athletes will represent GB Snowsport at the European Winter Para Sports event – ‘ParaSki4Europe’ in Poland from 24th Feb – 2nd March, taking place in Czarna Gora Ski Resort and Jamrozowa Polana Duszniki Cross Country Centre in Poland.
‘ParaSki4Europe’ is expected to welcome athletes from 15 different countries, from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines. The Event motto is ‘One Sport – One Europe – one dream’ and its purpose it to allow para athletes of different ages and sporting abilities to participate in a big multi-event, by enabling athletes with disabilities to meet, train and compete together. It will also be a good opportunity for performance staff to meet and knowledge share about para-winter sports.
Sports competitions will be combined with an educational programme: seminar and workshops of ‘Medical classification system; and ‘Anti-doping education.’ As an accompanying activity ‘Inspirations and Motivational meetings with Paralympians’, strengthening inspirations and motivations in para-sport, will be organised.
Our aim will be to establish a network to strengthen, support and develop winter para sports in Europe. This team is being delivered in partnership with Armed Forces Para Snowsport Team and Snowsport Scotland. We will look to continue to build on this collaboration to provide the best support to aspiring winter Paralympic athletes in Great Britain.
