Learn to Ski or Snowboard

You can learn the basics of skiing or snowboarding in one day, but with a few more, you should be able to control your speed, make basic turns and use uplift successfully - Then you will be ready to venture onto the Scottish artificial and mountain slopes and have a fantastic time!

This is hopefully the beginning of a lifelong love for snowsports, many holidays, and perhaps the opportunity to further develop your skills!

Snowsports offers the opportunity to:

  • Get fit and healthy in the outdoors
  • Have fun with friends and family
  • Develop a skill for life
  • Become an instructor and have skiing as your work
  • Take part in competitions & events
  • Maybe one day compete in the Winter Olympics!

Once you take your first ride up a lift your life will be changed forever,”

Let Snowsport Scotland help guide you along your journey!

The first step is to find a resort or centre with a snowsports school. There are many places to learn how to ski or snowboard all year round on both snow or artificial ‘dry mat’ surfaces. Snowsports schools offer group lessons or individual lessons with prices starting from as little as £6 per hour!

1. Find a Mountain Resort that teaches skiing and snowboarding through our partner website Ski Scotland

2. Find an artificial slope ski school that is open all year

3. Find a club and get involved with like minded snowsports enthusiasts to learn with new friends
