Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
All qualified snowsports coaches, leaders and instructors are required to attend regular continuing professional development (CPD) training after they qualify to revalidate their qualification and remain licensed and insured to operate.
For CPD training to be eligible to revalidate your qualification it must be relevant to the remit and scope of your qualification and either refresh knowledge of best practice methodologies or develop additional skills that improve the quality of your delivery.
Eligible CPD Training
ONSLOPE: All designated Snowsport Scotland onslope qualification training and CPD courses are eligible to revalidate your qualification for 3 years.
ONLINE: Selected Snowsport Scotland online webinars and training videos can also be used as CPD to revalidate your qualification. To use online CPD training for revalidation members will require to view/attend at least 3 online education sessions and upload the official CPD form (see below) to their Snowsport Scotland database profile. This will re-validate your qualification for 1 year.
Dates of all courses and webinars are published in the SSS Course Calendar and all CPD training videos are published through our online videos channel.
Snowsport Scotland may also permit external training courses to be recognised as valid CPD for qualification revalidation provided they are:-
- LEGITIMATE: (Delivered by accredited trainers/tutors, and bearing credible content and certification)
- RELEVANT: (Relevant to your qualification remit)
- CURRENT: (Containing the very latest updates and best practice)

How to check your CPD status
When you log in to your SSS Sportlomo database profile and look at your qualification you will see that there is a credential (required component) called CPD. This, along with all other credentials must all show a status of “Approved” for your qualification to remain licensed and you to be insured to operate.
To Upload Evidence of CPD training
After you have attended in-person, or viewed online CPD training you will need to download and then complete the Snowsport Scotland CPD Form
The completed for should then be uploaded to your Snowsport Scotland database profile. To do this:-
- Login to your profile
- Click on the qualifications button
- Click on one of your qualifications
- On the row for your CPD credential click the far right “Up Arrow” icon/ button
- This will take you into a screen that allows you to upload an attachment and add a date and details

External CPD Course Results Processing Charge
Please note that there is an admin fee of £20 for SSS to review, approve and update your CPD credential for any external CPD courses.
This fee is waived for courses delivered by Snowsport England, Snowsport Wales or BASI.
