Do you want to shape the future of British Nordic Skiing?

The British Ski and Snowboard Nordic Discipline Committee are looking to appoint a Chair who, as an experienced, knowledgeable and highly motivated individual, will help drive the organisation forward.

The future for British Snowsports is exciting. Since inception in 2010, BSS has established a strong track record - best ever snowsport results in the recent Olympic Winter Games reflect a huge step forward.  BSS now have an ambitious board with strategy to become a top 5 nation in snowsports. Fundraising initiatives support this ambition and a world class Performance Director is now in place.

This voluntary position will be a chance for the right candidate to work alongside the Performance Director; make a significant difference to British snowsports; and help our elite British Nordic skiing athletes achieve a similar level of success to that of our winning summer sport athletes. You will be part of the transformation of British snowsports as we start down the road to the next Olympic Winter Games in Beijing in 2022.

The Chair of the Nordic Discipline Committee will also be eligible to stand as one of the three Discipline Directors appointed to the Board of BSS.

If you wish to be considered for this position, you will need to be nominated by a British Ski and Snowboard member. Click here for the nomination form. Candidates will want to outline their vision for British snowsports and the Nordic Discipline, as well as their skills in terms of governance, strategic planning, marketing, and risk management.

The closing date for nominations is 30th April 2018. If you require any more information or wish to have an informal discussion about the role then please contact George Gabriel via email, georgeg@ntlworld.com
