New Appointment : National Performance Alpine Coach, Mark Vinter

Snowsport Scotland is thrilled to announce the appointment of our new National Performance Alpine Coach, Mark Vinter.

Over the last 30 years, Mark has been involved in skiing as a Coach at Glasgow Ski Racing and for the last 7 years as the lead Coach of the British Children’s Team. Throughout his coaching career, Mark has worked with a number of Scottish athletes who have been selected into British training squads, including his two sons Owen and Zak Vinter.

Mark was the recipient of the Snowsport Scotland ‘Coach of the Year’ Award in 2018.

As the Snowsport Scotland National Performance Alpine Coach, Mark will be working with FIS (U18) athletes, who have the potential to transition into GB training squads by 2022. This programme will support selected athletes through a mix of training camps/ competitions abroad (10-12 weeks), monthly coaching sessions in Scotland and off snow support services delivered by the Scottish Institute of Sport.

Mark will begin his new role with Snowsport Scotland on the 15th of April.

Snowsport Scotland would like to acknowledge and thank Sportscotland for their support in funding this exciting new role.
