Evolution Races

Rankin produces the goods at the Evolution races with two overall podium finishes

Shona Rankin produced two improved performances to take a second and a third in the re-arranged Evolution races in Reiteralm.

The small but compact field benefitted from a lot of hard work by the hill team at Reiteralm, home to many World Cup stars as their training base, including Dave Ryding, and the Evolution team. Heavy snow in the days preceding the races had meant that the planned double Super G event had had to be hastily rearranged and two Giant Slalom’s taking their place,

Daisy Cowie was the only other Scottish female racer in the field, she scored two top fifteen results with an eleventh and fifteenth overall.

The Scottish boys battled hard and Gregor Munro was best Scot in the first race in sixth (4th in the Under 16) and Ryrie Hodge taking ninth (5th in the Under 14 race). In race 2, Ryan Pye took fifth with Ryrie Hodge battling hard for eighth.

Brodie Hodge took third place in the first under 12 boys race and fourth in the second race. No Scottish girls took part in the Under 10 or 12 race.
