Now a bit about our Scottish athletes:
Ciaran was born in Fife and first discovered snowboarding at Hillend dryslope when he was 10 years old. He rapidly progressed as part of the Bearsden freestyle team and soon started travelling as part of the GB Park and Pipe Development squad. He has since made the jump up to GB Park + Pipe full team status and now has a number of Europa Cup starts under his belt.

While training in Australia over the previous summer Ciaran sustained a bruised heel and broken foot which resulted in him missing a great deal of early season training. Ciaran has now fully recovered and is out in Laax building his riding back up and looking to return to competition within the coming months.

Aside from snowboarding, Ciaran is a proficient techno DJ and enjoys “making absolute bangers on the daily”. Check out his sound cloud – Ciaran Tucker.

Matt originally began skiing but quickly made the switch to snowboarding when his older brother, Danny, took it up at their local dryslope – Bearsden Ski Club. Throughout his early teenage years, Matt competed regularly across the UK scene, earning numerous national championship titles.

In 2016 he made his World Cup debut in Pyeong Chang, South Korea and has since racked up over 20 starts, including 9 top 20 finishes and 3 starts in World Cup finals.

With a week to go before his next World Cup in Calgary, Matt is out in Laax riding alongside Ciaran and other GB Park + Pipe team members.

As well as snowboarding Matt also enjoys skateboarding.   Matt also studies Mathematics and Physics with the Open University.
