Snowsport Scotland offers a range of memberships and registrations that allow clubs and individuals to affiliate or register as:-

Why Register as a Member Club

All snowsports clubs operating in Scotland are invited to join Snowsports Scotland.

For each member club we provide a range of services and benefits:-

  • Public Liability Insurance for club activities Insurance Cover Letter   
  • Officers and Directors Liability Insurance
  • Employers Liability Insurance
  • Support from the SSS development team on club organisation & governance, legal compliance, promotion & networking, events, volunteer development, coach development and skills training programmes in most disciplines
  • News and information feeds from SSS
  • Status as a Snowsport Scotland Member Club, with voting rights at SSS general meetings

PLUS

  • Blanket public liability insurance for all club members
  • 10% uplift discount at Scottish Mountain Resorts (Terms apply) for all club members
  • A selection of other discounts as detailed below

Club membership fees are based on a price per member as follow:-

£4 per junior member (U21)

£7 per adult member (21+)

In addition to joining your club, all of your individual club members are invited to create their own personal profile in the Snowsport Scotland Member Zone.  This then means they can be included directly in any outbound communications with news, views and tips.  To create a member profile visit the Member Zone.

Why Register as a Competitor

Anyone involved in BASS (British Alpine Seeding System), BARTS (British Artificial Seeding System) or FIS (International Ski Federation) competitions require to register with the home nations governing body as a competitor.

As a competitor you will be issued with a registered competitor number for use at events.

Competitor registration currently costs £35 per annum. (free to U12's). Under the current M&A all competitors must be a member of an affiliated club. To register as a competitor please visit the member zone link to the right.

Why Register as a Coach, Instructor or Leader

Anyone involved in coaching leading or instructing is Scotland is encouraged to register with Snowsports Scotland.

Once registered you will be issued with:-

  • A license to operate in the UK and abroad
  • Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Public Liability Insurance  Insurance Cover Letter  

In addition you will have access to Snowsport Scotland's range of :-

  • UKCP Training courses
  • CPD Training
  • 10% uplift discount at Scottish Mountain Resorts (Terms apply)
  • A selection of other retail travel and uplift discounts
  • News and information feeds from SSS

Why Regsiter as an Individual Associate Member

If you are not a member of a club...

You may still wish to join Snowsport Scotland to get more involved with the Snowsports community and participate in:-

  • Instructor Courses
  • First Aid Courses
  • Backcountry safety courses
  • Non-seeded competitions

To do this you can join Snowsport Scotland as an individual associate member and receive the benefits below. Alternatively you can consider joining as a Coach, Instructor or leader - see drop down sections above.

As an individual associate member you are entitled to:-

  • A selection of retail partner discounts as detailed below
  • News and information feeds from SSS

Discounts for members

Each year Snowsport Scotland goes out to it insurers, retailers and travel companies to negotiate benefits and discounts for its membership. For 2017/18 membership year Snowsport Scotland members will continue to receive:-

  • 10% uplift discounts at the 5 mountain resorts. Please note that for this coming season the mountains require to ensure dicounts are not abused, and will for this season require all members to provide proof of status to be eligible for discounts.

All other discounts are currently in negotiation. Once secured a communication will be issued to all members outlining what is available.
