British Ski and Snowboard Cross

Zoe Gillings-Brier and Maisie Potter have been in action at the Snowboard Cross World Cup in Solitude, USA. Qualification started yesterday with Gillings-Brier having a storming qualification run, qualifying after run one in 12th place and straight through to Saturday’s quarter finals. In her second ever World Cup, Maisie Potter just missed out on the final, but put in a solid qualification performance.

Ski Cross athlete Liz Stevenson is also in Solitude competing in the Ski Cross North American Cup, which takes place today.

GB Park and Pipe

The GB Park and Pipe snowboarders had a frustrating day in the office in Laax at the latest Slopestyle World Cup. On Tuesday, after landing her jumps Katie Ormerod fell on the last rail to finish 9th in her heat, just missing out on the semi-final. Aimee Fuller didn’t manage a clean run, finishing 20th in her heat. For the men, Matt McCormick put in a strong performance, finishing 11th in his heat, but with just the top 6 in each heat going through to semis he missed out on finals. Billy Morgan also finished 11th in his heat, also not progressing through to finals.

This weekend, GB Park and Pipe’s Anna Vincenti will be joined by pathway skiers Mike Rowlands, Monty Wright, Joe Hides, Chris McCormick, Felix Klein and Kyle Jenkins at the Slopestyle Europa Cup in St Anton, Austria.

The next World Cup Slopestyle begins next week in Seiser Alm, Italy, with snowboard qualification due to take place on Wednesday followed by ski qualification on Thursday.
