2017 marks 10th anniversary in the Italian resort
Entries are now open for the 2017 English Alpine Championships, as over 400 of the country’s best English Alpine skiers are set to descend on Bormio, Italy from 11-17th February 2017.
Celebrating the event’s 10th year in the authentic Italian ski and spa town, the country’s top skiers ranging from under 10s to senior athletes will battle out on the slopes of Bormio to become crowned English Champions across six days of racing.
The Championships kick off on Saturday 11th February 2017 with the spectacular Opening Parade on the Saturday evening in the centre of Bormio. As well as a busy week of daytime racing, the Team Parallel Slalom returns on the Tuesday night under the floodlights, after three hugely successful years.
Organised by Snowsport England, entries to the Championships are now open across six categories: Senior, Junior, U16, U14, U12 and U10. Competitors can enter now on the new Snowsport England race entry website https://entries.snowsportengland.org.uk/
The English Alpine Championships continue to feature the rising stars of Alpine skiing in England, previously acting as a platform for the likes of Dave Ryding and Cara Brown. A key event on the Alpine calendar, the Championships give athletes a fantastic opportunity to gain professional racing experience on world-class race pistes.
With a consistent big turn out, the English Alpine Championships not only attract hundreds of competitors, the event also play host to hundreds of coaches, supporters, parents and volunteers, making for a unique and buzzing atmosphere. The event will be sponsored in 2017 by Bormio Ski, Rossignol, Vital, Endsleigh, Ski Bartletts and Racer Ready.
