Emily Rothney Bags Third at World Junior Championships
Friday 29th saw 2008-born Emily Rothney qualify in 3rd place at Big Air in Mottolino Italy. The event was scheduled to move on to finals the following day however, poor conditions meant qualification scores were taken for final placings. The conditions were reportedly also very challenging on qualification day, adding even more merit to Emily’s strong placing. Emily’s an outstanding talent in the freestyle scene and is one to keep an eye on for sure! Huge credit to Emily, her team and coaching for the outstanding achievement.

Maisie Blyth and Joe Grieve Alpine Success
More performance success came over the weekend at the NJR British Championships in Tignes. Scots Masie Blyth and Joe Grieve both skied to impressive podium results, 2nd and 3rd respectively. The GB Alpine Championships marks the end of the season for many of our Scottish alpine athletes, an amazing way for both to cap it off. The pair train under the Scottish Alpine ski team headed up by Mark Vinter, Snowsport Scotland’s Alpine Performance Coach. A massive congratulations to the two athletes, their teams and their coaches.

Swiss National Champs Para Alpine Triumphs
The Swiss National Championships took place over the weekend. The event was an opportunity for some of our Team GB Para Alpine athletes to end this season with a bang! Suffice to say, they delivered. Hester Poole and Scottish guide Ali Hall netted two medals, a silver in Giant Slalom and a bronze in Slalom. A sensational performance from the pair.
Some of our other athletes also put in some impressive performances. Dom Allen placed 7th in a very impressive debut. Jamie Thomson also skied well, making massive improvements from last year. A successful weekend for Team GB. Congratulations to all the athletes, props to their teams and coaches for the excellent showing.
